Client wanted to build a platform which allows user to sell digital files. Instead of applying any membership subscription fees, we decided to have "Pay only when you sell" model which eventually helped to grab user attention from the first day of going live.
As uploading and downloading files was heart of the project, we used Amazon S3 and developed front end using backbone. Users can generate "Buy Now" button widget which they can use anywhere - powerful stuff! Interactive dashboard allows user to track uploaded file views, downloads and revenue easily. Newsfeed enables user to view product updates of seller he is following.
